Makers’ Market at Sullivan Square

Not only does Bring Your Lawn Chairs to Sullivan Square bring our community together for live music, whimsical variety acts, food vendors, face painting (and more!), but as of 2023 we also offer an opportunity to shop and support a collection of curated, Berwick-area makers who will be located within steps from the main stage!

Application Process:

Applications Due by June 1, 2024

  1. Fill out and submit the online application including images. DO NOT SEND PAYMENT AT THIS TIME.

  2. Envision Berwick Jury Committee will review all applications.

  3. Vendors are chosen and sent acceptance email by June 15, 2024.

  4. Upon receipt of payment and insurance certificate your spot at the market will be reserved.

 

Product Requirements:

  • Vendors may only sell and display the items they listed on their application.

  • Vendors must personally hand make items. No manufactured items are allowed.

  • Preference will be given to vendors in or near Berwick Maine.

  • We anticipate many applications, however due to limited space we must choose makers that represent a diverse selection of items.

 

Event Policies:

  • Vendors must provide a current insurance certificate/proof of liability with “Town of Berwick, 11 Sullivan Street” listed as an additional insured to participate in the market.

  • By participating in this market you agree to allow us to use your photograph for market promotion including printed material and social media.

  • Vendors MUST adhere to the State of Maine Single-Use Plastic Bag BAN.

  • Vendors must collect ME state sales tax of 5.5%

  • Event hours are 4pm - 8pm

  • Vendor check-in begins at 2pm and ends at 3:40pm at which time, check-in is closed to all vendors.

  • Vendors are responsible for providing, setting up, and breaking down their own materials for display including but not limited to tents, tables and chairs. Tents must be white, 10’x10’ size, and have 40 lbs of weight on each leg. Tents are located on pavement and can not be staked. No electricity is provided, generators are not permitted.

  • Vendors must be present at their booth for the entire duration of the event. Booth sitters will be available for momentary breaks. We anticipate approximately 2,000 visitors. Food vendors must be prepared to sell until the end of the event.

  • Absolutely no booth breakdown prior to 8pm, and must be completed by 8:45pm

  • Booths are 10ft x 10ft

  • Vendor booth locations are assigned by Envision Berwick Committee. Booth assignments will not be disclosed until the day of the event

  • Rate: $40 per booth. Once a vendor is accepted, information on making the payment will be emailed. Once payment is received your spot is guaranteed. Refunds are not issued for any reason, including non-compliance and/or not reading and understanding these policies. 

  • Weather: This is an outdoor event and all weather should be considered. A rain date of Sunday, August 4th (same times) is reserved. This call will be made by the Envision Berwick Committee and Town of Berwick within 6 hours of the event start time.

  • SHOULD YOU NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE THE EVENT PLEASE NOTIFY THE COMMITTEE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. We will utilize a waiting list to fill booths. No shows will not be considered for future events.

  • The market manager reserves the right to make exceptions to the rules, but this is expected to occur very rarely.
